Welcome to the Chattanooga Section Home Page. We are a local section of the American Chemical Society located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We promote public awareness of chemistry by being involved in outreach programs in our community and working with students to encourage an interest in the chemical sciences.
The ACS local section is excited to kick off the first meeting of the Fall semester at the Tennessee Aquarium. Come join us on Thursday, September 18th at 5:00 pm for a backstage tour and presentation. The tour and presentation will be customized for chemists and emphasize the unique chemical water quality requirements of both the salt water ocean and river environments. The cost of the tour is $5. There will be a social/dinner following the tour at The Blue Plate (order from the menu).
Please RSVP to Jim Dillard (firstname.lastname@example.org) or 423-903-9651 by Friday, September 12, 2014 so that an accurate reservation can be made. For more information concerning the tour and dinner, please see the attached flyer by clicking here.
